Flexibility With Tunic Style Dresses

By Lucia Weeks

Looking good is about more than vanity. It is often the key to the start of positive social and professional opportunities, especially since, these days, life moves at such a fast pace that many decisions are made based on first impressions. Many of these first impressions are hinged on appearance. This means that a fashionably current wardrobe is quite an essential asset and among the staple items for such a wardrobe are tunic style dresses.

Tunic design dresses are flexible. They may be sexy, sporty, casual or professional in their look. It all depends on the talent of the designer as well as they type of fabric selected.

Some tunics go well with leggings. This is especially important for the more conservative fashionista who does not want to much. You may select a legging that matches your dress or one that accentuates it with a contrasting hue depending, of course on your taste and your fashion ideal.

Short sexy tunic dresses add excitement to any intimate moment. This is true for those romantic settings at home as well as those spent away from home. Colors such as deep reds and purples help to make the dress even more sexy. The fabric also plays role in this. Fabrics that enhance the natural curves of a woman body such as silk or Georgette or sheer type material help to make the dress even more sexy.

These dresses may be worn as professional attire as well. Women of the corporate world often sport tunics of varying lengths. The shorter ones may be accentuated by tailored jackets. Corporate style tunics re often made using material of sobering colors such s greys and browns. For some work atmospheres though, livelier colors such as greens and blues may be appropriate.

Casual and sporty events are also great opportunities to don a beautiful tunic dress. Tunics made of soft, light material such as cotton are perfect for a day at the park or a shopping trip or any other casual moment. Many of the more trendy tennis players have taken to wearing tunics such as these to their matches. For these events, the dress should also be light and bright color. Shades such as rich popping yellows, pinks and greens are ideal in these situations. It is also a great idea to go floral or to mix the colors.

Tunics may also work as formal evening wear pieces. This is especially true since shorter dresses are becoming more and more popular for these events. A dress that stops just above the knee for the more conservative wearer and a little bit further up for the more risky female sets the fashion tone for any formal evening. The dress may be designed to flatter the body's shape by showing up the curves with a strip of a different color running along the sides.

There is no denying it. The fashion world clearly needs elements like tunics. They serve diverse purposes and, depending on design and fabric may fit any occasion. It is difficult to see them outliving their relevance as decades or centuries pass by.
