Fort Lauderdale Churches Happily Welcome Visitors

Metropolitan South Florida is one of the most densely populated regions in the United States. Millions of people of almost every nationality and every faith live, work and worship here. Each day more people arrive to make this vibrant area their home. If you plan to into the area, relocating for business or just because you love this part of the country, you will have many decisions to make. For people of faith, looking for a church home, Fort Lauderdale churches are waiting to welcome you.

There are probably more Baptists in the South than almost anywhere else on earth. South Florida is home to many of them. If you are a Baptist, or considering becoming one, you won't have to look far to find a welcoming church home. First Baptist is a great big church that likes to think of itself has having small town values with the diversity found in urban areas. People from all over the world come to worship here.

Calvary Chapel appeals to many different age groups. You can attend Sunday service in jeans and a tee shirt, and nobody will mind. Everyone is welcome, no matter what they wear. If you have just moved to the city, Calvary offers lots of groups you can get involved in. There are Bible studies and community outreach projects going on all the time.

If you grew up in a Christian household that believed in strict adherence to Biblical teachings, Gateway might be a good fit. They are non-denominational and concentrate on the gospel. Our Lady of the Rosary came into being just after the Second Vatican Council. It works to ensure that Catholics with traditional, conservative values and beliefs are served. Catholics interested in trying an unusual and unique worship experience might want to visit the Ancient Spanish Monastery. The architecture alone, with its vaulted ceilings and Gothic arches, is worth the trip. This community is a mixture of white, black and Spanish. The services are designed for people at all levels of spirituality, and you are invited to participate as much or as little as you want.

Florida has always boasted a large and vibrant Jewish community, and you will find many synagogues with differing focuses and views. Temple Beth Israel is conservative and has been serving the city for fifty years. Temple Bat Yam is a reform temple with a liberal viewpoint that embraces the diversity of all cultures.

Religious diversity is one of the hallmarks of South Florida. Its inhabitants are free to worship as they please in peace and with the respect they have earned.
