Information About Sublimation Clothing Decoration

By John Harris

Technology has found a way to creep into the garment industry. Fashion has over the years changed and people are looking for more personalized ways to express themselves in what they put on. This has led to printing of clothes and there are different ways in which it is done. One of these methods is sublimation clothing. To enable you understand the procedure, the details given below will be of help.

This is a process which involves the bonding of ink into the fabric. This is dissimilar to having it on top as in the case of screen printing. The latter method depends on a chemical additive which is known as a binder to attach to the fabric while in the former, molecular bonding is involved. The end product is able to resist any peeling, cracking or even fading. The garment can be washed over and over and the design still remains.

The actions that are performed to fuse the images with the material are simple. The design is printed on a piece of special paper using ink and a machine. This is later reduced to the proper size and the cut paper is placed on the fabric. Heat is applied to the two of them and in the process, the image is fused. The garment feels softer and is also durable.

There are different materials used to manufacture various wears. Not all are suitable for this operation. The ideal choice is the polymers and polyesters. These can withstand the amount of heat used to press. Cotton and wool should not be used because they do not. However, some chemicals added to the suitable materials may interfere with their workability. Fabric with fifty percent polymer can also be used.

Color is important when printing to obtain the best result. White is suitable but when selected, it should not be part of the customized design. Other colors can be used and will replace the white if the image has included it. However, there are limitations involved such that they might fade if their dye was set at a lower temperature than that of the heat press. Testing should be done prior to printing.

There are two major under takings that are carried out. They are namely spots and allover printing respectively. They differ in various aspects. Spot action is now the most common. It is done by with a desktop printers. The transfer paper is a single sheet which is thrown away after it has been used. The size of the pattern is smaller than the paper size.

Allover system is more advance that the above mentioned way. This involves producing graphics from the top to bottom of the apparel. The image is therefore larger. It is possible to obtain white prints with this setting. The equipment needed is larger thus making it expensive than its counterpart.

To end, this is a very effective way to customize your gears. You can achieve the desired graphics by selecting the right machinery to use. Although not all things are applicable, you just have to identify what can work for the decorations to make sense.
