Fun Moments In The Color Run San Diego

By Willie V. Knoll

The Color Run San Diego is held every year and is made up of a 5K race, tons of bright colors, and a lot of good times. Everyone is welcome to attend as a racer, volunteer, or spectator, but racers will have to sign up ahead of time and pay the fees to be able to join in. A San Diego charity is selected to receive a portion of the money that is gathered during the event.

All races start at 9 AM, and every five minutes after that colors will be flying through the air. A large quantity of colored corn starch is thrown at the racers by the volunteers on the sidelines, also known as the Color Bomb Squad. Because the powdered colors are merely colored corn starch, there is no need to worry about poisonous paints or dyes ruining your day. After runners finish the race and cross the finish line, they can proceed to throw colors at all of their friends and other runners who have completed the race.

The Color Run San Diego will be giving a part of its proceeds to Deaf Community Services of San Diego. Their objective is to enrich the lives of men and women in the deaf and hard of hearing community by eliminating barriers to services, education, and advocacy, and this is why they were chosen. Other race venues will donate a portion of their proceeds to a charity that is in that area.

Anyone who participates in the Color Run San Diego will get a t-shirt. Runners will get a t-shirt celebrating The Art of Running and volunteers will receive a shirt that recognizes them as a part of the Color Bomb Squad. In addition to the t-shirt, racers will also receive sunglasses, a racing big, and other cool gear from the sponsors upon signing up. Racers younger than 7 can participate for free, and people of all ages are encouraged to take part in the event.

Racers and volunteers alike would have a great time at the Color Run San Diego, and everyone is sure to have a good time. This 5K Color Run occurs each year, and a local charity benefits from a portion of the registration fees. Whether they want to be racers, volunteers, or spectators, people of all ages are encouraged to come out and enjoy the event. The race isn't over when the multicolored runners cross the finish line, and everyone can hang out with friends while savoring the food, drink, and live music.
