Attending An Elvis Tribute San Francisco

By Cornelia White

Finding an Elvis tribute San Francisco is not difficult. He is one of the most famous and well known performers of all time and although he is no longer performing live he lives on in the thousands of people who impersonate him and attempt to match his talent. Nearly forty years after his death, he still has as many fans and followers as he did as a young entertainer.

His success as a performer began in 1956 when he cut Heartbreak Hotel. That song rocketed to number one on the charts and led to several television appearances that helped to cement his future as a all round singer. He started the rock and roll era but could cross over to country-western, ballads, blues and spiritual songs at will. His ability to traverse the music field so thoroughly made him an icon of American entertainment.

His career eventually took him to Hollywood and he starred in several movies that although they made plenty of money were not Academy Award winners. After a short break that lasted approximately seven years he made his come back and returned to the live stage for the rest of his life. Three days after his death in 1977 a new song was released and became an instant hit. There have been new versions of his music released nearly every year since his death.

Today we have performers who impersonate him. They do their best to duplicate every aspect of his public life from his walk to speech and song styles. Some of these performers are very good and can be seen in clubs and private events.

You can book private performances for social events in your life and will no doubt be pleased with the outcome. Many impersonators advertise online and in the social media that has developed on notebooks and the like. Although these performances are very good they will not fill that certain need that appears when it is a tribute to him.

There have been several conferences in the city dedicated to the King and attended by thousands of people dressed like him. They may hold impromptu performances on the streets and in hotels where they are staying. These parties have a convention like atmosphere and everyone is encouraged to attend and join the fun. Although these are not necessarily formally held in honor of the King they do pay homage to his memory.

In a sellout event the Giants base ball team put on a game dedicated to the king and his fans. They had several impersonators to entertain fans before and during the game. They also handed out door prizes to the first twenty thousand people through the gate. There were contests throughout the game for costuming and singing.

The base ball game was held in September of 2013 and is the most recent Elvis tribute San Francisco. Happily it was a tremendous success and because it was hopefully they will repeat it again next year. As it is over twenty thousand people had a memorable experience and the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation got a very nice donation.
