When you think of Japan, you will surely think of many things that are synonymous to the place. But when it comes to the entertainment aspect, this is one of the countries to look out for. With the increasing popularity of animes and the increasing influence that it has on the world, you can say that Japan has managed to garner the attention of the world yet again. Animes can simply be described as animations with more distinguished features compared to common cartoons.

If you have not yet started to watch a single series or you are looking for your next one, you should try to put Code Geass in your list. This usually has a spot in the most recommended animes of all time. It is set in a time when robots where the main instruments used to fight wars and win them. Many of the animes and shows are usually based on Japanese comics known as Manga. This is show is not an exception. The storyline starts with stronger countries colonizing weaker ones. In this case, the stronger country is known as Britannia and the country being oppressed is Japan. This is when the people where sent to Area Eleven and were denied their rights and freedoms.

Numerous individuals have been intrigued by the plot since the one who vowed revenge against the colonizing super power also the same from the same country as the antagonist. A Britannian prince was exiled right after witnessing the death of his mother. The same incident caused unfortunate effects on his sister which made him hate his father and his empire even more.

There was one incident when he was granted super powers. The ability gives him full control of the mine of a certain individual and make them do what he wills. This is known as the power of the Geass and is his main tool to accomplish his goal of destroying Britannia.

More than one element makes the series even more interesting. First, you can start with the main character which can be classified as the protagonist and the antagonist at the same time. He can be classified as the hero of the entire story. However, his objectives can be seen as something that is very dark since it is all about revenge although he wants to have justice.

If you take a look at the series at first, you may want to sympathize with the prince at first. However, this might not be what you will feel in the entire series because he would not stop at anything to exact revenge. This would mean that no matter what method he will use, he is still going to do it which is kind of dark.

Another element at play is the series is the graphics and the technical aspect. There plot is also solid despite the many twists in the entire story. If you are looking a good anime, you should always refer to the graphical level that it has.

It is true that the concept for the entire story is dark since it revolves around achieving justice and freedom. Most of the time, themes like this always instigate war. However, you could also not miss the humor that is laced with the entire plot which will still give you laughs even if you are feeling chills.
