DIY Hacks For Handmade Couture Bow Ties

Neckties have become popular over time due to their elegance and affordability. Most people prefer making the neckties for their loved ones other than buying them from boutiques. Such consideration requires one to follow through the right steps to create an ideal product. Here are guidelines for making handmade couture bow ties to acknowledge.

Get the right materials. You need a few materials to make this task turn out successful. Some materials such as ironing board, scissors and iron are common in a house. You need to purchase products such as a fabric, sewing machine, a bow tie pattern and threads in different colors. A quarter of a yard fabric is enough for a standard necktie.

Get the right fabric. The most common material used to make neckties is silk. Even so, summer cotton and velvet are also ideal enough for usage. You must know casual outfits that your target person has to choose a material that is suitable enough. Summer cotton and silk can match well with almost any outfit making the best choices to make. Check whether their textures can offer a vast difference in the fashion of your loved one as you make your decision.

Cut the pattern into the required size and shape. Use the necktie custom pattern to cut the fabrics and interface in the right size. Use a hard paper or a cardstock to scale the paper into the required size and shape. Take note of the black lines drawn on the pattern since they might fail to match the size of your target person.

Use the interface to cut the fabrics. The fabrics cannot remain uniform unless you iron the materials that you intend to cut. Pin the fabrics together to maintain a consistent edge while ironing. Check whether the sides are consistent and trim them to retain their uniformity before you sew them up.

Sew the interface with the fabric. You should leave a one-centimeter allowance to seam the interface and fabric when stitching the materials together. Turn the material to the other side and iron it once more to maintain consistency. Fold the edges into four folds and turn both edges towards the center. Hold the bow tie at the center to create a crease that you should wrap using the additional cloth to secure it.

Create a band that can fit the wearer. One can make a fixed or an adjustable band. The adjustable band requires a long fabric since it targets different wearers. You should have accurate of the neck size of the wearer to make a necktie that has a fixed measurement. Leave the non-pointed end open since you will be using it to turn the side of your band. Iron it after turning it through to maintain a perfect shape.

You should look for reliable sources of information to rely on when making the necktie. Besides that, ensure that there is enough time to handle the task especially if you are a first timer. Purchase a bigger fabric since some might go to waste due to errors when trying out this process for the very first time.
