The USA's Greatest Washington D.C. Fine Arts

The capital of the U. S. is a city filled to bursting with fine arts. From sculptures, theater, opera, symphonies and paintings, fine arts in Washington DC, are some examples of the finest in the country. No trip to the U.S. Capital would be conclusive without exploring the Washington DC arts. Nearly every street corner boasts an creative experience, whether or not it is a gig or a poetry reading. With such a large amount of different places, you're certain to find a choice that fits your tastes. Just make absolutely sure to experience the exceptional Washington DC arts in some shape, form or shape.

The Kennedy Center

The Kennedy Center is a major center for the Washington DC humanities. The Center offers over 400 performances a year, including a free daily performance at 6 p.m. on the Center's Millennium Stage. The Kennedy Center hosts performances in multimedia, ballet, theater, as well as a variety of musical concerts including jazz, popular, orchestral, chamber and hippy music. Ticket prices and performance schedules vary, but can be found on their internet site.

Washington National Opera

Partnered with the Kennedy Center, the Washington National Opera is the nation's official opera since 2000. The performs at The Kennedy Center's opera house. The Opera performs many operas each year.

The National Symphony Orchestra

The National Symphony Orchestra also performs in The Kennedy Center. The Symphony plays about 175 concerts during each year's 52-week season, and regularly performs for inaugurations or ceremonies of state.

The Suzanne Farrell Ballet

The Suzanne Farrell Ballet frequently performs in The Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Tower, although the troupe also tours nationally. The Ballet first formed in 1999, and has solidly performed fine quality ballets since.

The National Gallery of Art

Naturally, not all the fine arts in Washington DC are contained within The Kennedy Center. The National Gallery of Art sees about 4.6 million visitors annually and features one of the best collections of art on the planet. The Gallery's collection includes paintings, images, sculptures, gongs, prints and drawings. The Gallery also hosts a spread of brief special exhibits. Admission to the National Gallery of Art is free; it is open from 10 a.m. To 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, and 11 a.m. To 5 p.m. On Sun..

The National Theatre

Found on Pennsylvania Avenue, The National Theatre sits just three blocks from the White House and is a personal, charity. The theater seats over 1,600 folks, and sometimes hosts traveling Broadway musicals.
