There are numerous different kinds of materials not to mention colors, sizes and textures that it may become hard to select the right pieces to finish your project. Crystal beads - they are beads crafted from glass with the higher net content. They are more expensive than normal glass beads and can look great. One well-known brand of Crystal beads is the Swarovski brand which is well-known across the world.

Metal beads- there are several types of metal beads. The most affordable are made from aluminum, bronze, copper and nickel. The next least expensive choice is silver and gold plated metal where the piece of metal is covered by a fine layer of silver or gold. The underlying metal is usually copper or bronze.

There are many kinds of beads used in beadwork but the above tend to be the best known.
