Party Planning Checklist

By Chris Hepburn

Planning a party involves a lot of work and effort on the part of the host. The best thing that you can do for yourself is to write out a checklist of all the things that need to be accomplished and when you need to do them.

At the absolute top of your checklist, you will need to create a budget for the party. Thanks to creating a budget, you can first figure out how many people you can invite which leads to the next section of your checklist. Following this, you may wish to label the next components of your checklist which will center on items and issues related to the guests.

These components of the checklist and should include a list of people to invite, buying invitations, writing out the invitations, and then sending out the invitations. You just need to set a date in which to send out the invitations.

In general, it is best to send out the invitations a minimum of at least three weeks prior to the date of the party. Sometimes, guests need to be sent out in enough time that the guests will have two weeks to RSVP regarding whether or not they will attend.

Where you will be holding the party should be the next item on your checklist. Those that are not completely sure where the party will be held will be required to do as much research as possible. Those thank want to hire an outside vendor are also going to need to perform a little research in order to hire the right person. Calling vendors will also require calling the actual vendors in order to get the right price quote. They will also need to know how much food to purchase and how much it will cost. You also have the option of deciding to hold the event at your residence of to hire the services of a caterer. You will need to place an order on your checklist to get a quote from the caterers.

You can then determine if you would like to have the party at your home and hire a caterer. You will need to place on your checklist, get quotes from caterers. Or you might want to make all the food yourself in which case you will need to place on your checklist to investigate how much supplies and food will cost you. Once this is determined, you will need to add a place on the checklist to book the vender or caterer and further down the list place a checklist that will remind you to confirm with them closer to the party date.

Other things on your checklist may include buying party supplies like plates, napkins, utensils, cups, drinks and food. You also will have to determine if you are going to grant your guests with party favors when the night is through in which case you will need to add researching, buying and preparing the favors to your checklist. You may have to also add researching and hiring rentals like tables, chairs or a tent if it is so required to your checklist.

There are various things that you can add on the checklist are varied significantly from the different party hosts. It is definitely clear that by creating a party planning checklist, you can remain highly organizes and throw the best party possible.
