There are many galleries worldwide that display artwork from many genres.

They are spaced out to allow viewers the chance to look at each work without distraction of surrounding objects or pieces. Mixed media and sculptures will usually be placed in display cases made of glass or white stands.

Often each piece, whether mounted on the wall or displayed on a stand, have small card of information next to them. This often displays the name of the artist, the work and the price. Depending on the piece, additional background or information on materials used may be included as well. The works are put on display for people to see and are not usually allowed to be touched.

Commercial galleries are privately owned and for-profit businesses that deal with artwork of contemporary artists.
