Born in New York a new artist by the name of Linda is on the rise in south Fl. Her mother paints and continues to thrive as a visual artist while her father is in the musical genre. He plays the trumpet for a jazz band and has taught his daughter the musical ways.

She credits her singing ability to Celine Dion and Gladys knight. The successful artists have inspired her voice and the jazz that she continues to sing for. She plays at city venues around the state and formally West Palm Beach at city place.

Frances Langford is another musician who began her career in south Florida. During the popular era of the golden age of radio was the prime time of her singing career. She was not just singing but also showed her face in a few films during her day.

Frances was born in Lakeland, Fl and trained her voice to be an opera singer at age 17. When she had unforeseen surgery her voice changed and her career as an opera singer changed to the new sound of pop and rock music. Langford died at the age of 92 at her home of heart failure.

Miss Oklahoma named Anita Bryant relocated to Fl. And began her career as a musician. Since the move she produced fifteen top hits on the charts of the United States billboard. The labels Carlton and Columbia signed her. In 1969 she also sang for the super bowl.

Because of Bryant's views on homosexuality to she ended up losing her fame and fortune. People no longer wanted her to sing at popular venues. She continues to reside in her adopted town she calls home.

Bessie Wright was born in Miami and raised there to. At the age of two her voice became known and had a six octave range. She formed with a gospel group who went by the name echoes of joy with her other brothers and sisters. She ended up being one of the most successful singers earning Grammies and a gold record.

The echoes of joy band broke up when she was eleven years old. She then turned to a new genre singing R&B at twelve. This is when she was signed to her first known label and made hit records throughout her teen years. Her records continue to be used by other artists who sample her best known works.

A range of successful female singers Florida has graced the music era. Even though they may no longer be performing their music is still being played. They all have been very important to the genre of music and continue to inspire others.
